Sir Jerry welcomed me to tea at the High Commission and spent a good half hour discussing and viewing Godley Gifts. Sir Jerry was much taken with the beauty and exquisite production of Godley Gifts and hoped the book set would become a permanent feature of the High Commissioner’s office, in London. The site of the New Zealand High Commission, to the immediate west of Trafalgar Square, is only a large stone’s throw from where the management committee of The Canterbury Association first met, immediately south of Trafalgar Square.
